After you have put in place the money saving tips to reduce the cost of running your dryer in the basic maintenance, before you dry and while you dry sections, there are a few other steps you can take to reduce the costs of running you dryer. Here are a few of them:
- If you have a choice of purchasing a gas dryer or an electric dryer, opt for the gas dryer. There are much less expensive to run than electric dryers.
- When purchasing your next washing machine, opt for a side loading washing machine. These washing machines tend to spin out more water from the clothes than top loading washing machines.
- Make sure to close the door to your wash room in summer and keep it open in winter. Closing the wash room door will keep the dryer from heating up the whole house in summer. In the winter, keeping the door open will add a bit of extra heat to the house.
